The 49-year-old host receives criticism from some conservatives after blasting President Donald Trump for proposing a budget cut in healthcare funding.

AceShowbiz - Jimmy Kimmel got slammed by some conservatives after criticizing President Donald Trump for proposing a $6 billion cut in healthcare funding. On the Monday, May 1 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", Jimmy emotionally told viewers about his newborn son's heart disease. "If your baby is going to die and it doesn't have to, it shouldn't matter how much money you make. No parent should have to decide if they can afford to save their child’s life," he said, before adding, "I think that's something that whether you're a Republican or a Democrat or something else, we all agree on that, right?"

His monologue moved a lot of people, but some conservatives believed that Jimmy's statement was totally personal. One of the most harsh comments came from a former congressman, Joe Walsh. Walsh responded to his monologue by saying that his story didn't make him feel "obligated" to support Affordable Health Care. "Sorry Jimmy Kimmel: your sad story doesn't obligate me or anybody else to pay for somebody else's health care," the radio host tweeted on Tuesday, May 2. "Got no problem with @jimmykimmel tearing up & getting political. Got a big problem with: We need gov-run healthcare cuz of my sad story," he wrote.

Walsh's tweets were deemed insensitive, leading many people, including Chris Evans, to defend Jimmy. The "Captain America: Civil War" star responded to Walsh as saying, "It's fair to have opposing views on healthcare, but our humanity should guide us when, where and how to engage. This is beyond misplaced, Joe."

Ellen DeGeneres, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Patton Oswalt had previously shown their support for Jimmy. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama also agreed with his statement. "Well said, Jimmy. That's exactly why we fought so hard for the ACA, and why we need to protect it for kids like Billy. And congratulations!" Obama tweeted.
