Ed Sheeran Reveals Details of His Role on 'Game of Thrones' Season 7: 'I Don't Die'

The 'Shape of You' crooner teases that his cameo role on the hit HBO series will survive upcoming season 7, sparking a speculation that he will return for season 8.

AceShowbiz - It has been previously reported that Ed Sheeran will be making a cameo appearance on "Game of Thrones" upcoming season 7. Now that cat's out of bag, the chart-topper reveals the details of his character on the series.

Talking to Daily Star, the British singer said, "I do know which role I am going to play." He later confirmed the fate of his character, "I don't die in it, I don't die." With the confirmation that his role survives the HBO hit series' season 7, it's not impossible to see him returning for season 8.

Ed later clarified that although his character didn't die on the series, it was only a small role. "I'm only in it for like five minutes," he said. Ed reportedly filmed his scene last November and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) was on it.

It was also revealed that Ed had been wanting to do cameo on "Game of Thrones" for five years. Ed divulged that it was Snow Patrol's singer Gary Lightbody, who appeared as a Bolton soldier in season three, who got Ed on the series.

"My friend guested in it in 2012 and I remember I was on tour with him and he was like, 'Right, I've got a guest slot on 'Game Of Thrones',' " Ed opened up. He added, "I remember saying, 'You got to get me on it at some point.' It's been five years so it's finally come true."

"Game of Thrones" season 7 will premiere on Sunday, July 16.
