The 'Hacksaw Ridge' actor explains how the infamous kiss with Reynolds happened, saying that he told the 'Deadpool' actor, 'If you win, kiss me instead of your wife [Blake Lively].'

AceShowbiz - Andrew Garfield has admitted that the infamous kiss with Ryan Reynolds was his idea. While appearing on "The Graham Norton Show", the "Hacksaw Ridge" actor also explained how he got the 40-year-old "Deadpool" star to kiss him at the recent Golden Globes following Ryan Gosling's big win.

"It was a ridiculous thing," Garfield recalled, laughing. The 33-year-old actor revealed to host Graham Norton, "I said to Ryan Reynolds, 'If you win, kiss me instead of your wife [Blake Lively].' And he said, 'Yeah, that's great.' "

Reynolds was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his appearance as the Merc with a Mouth in "Deadpool". However, the award eventually went to Gosling, thanks to his work in Damien Chazelle's "La La Land". Despite Reynolds' lost, Garfield still asked the Canadian hunk to lock lips with him.

"And the plan was that he would kind of move towards his wife, and then kind of last minute lean in to it," Garfield shared. "And then he didn't win, much to our disappointment, so I said to Ryan, 'We can still just do it if we want.' " He added, "And he was game."
