AceShowbiz - After "The Matrix" trilogy, Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne will again share screen in "John Wick: Chapter 2". A new photo of the movie has been released via Entertainment Weekly, highlighting the two actors' reunion.
Fishburne will play a New York City underground leader called the Bowery King. "Lawrence is playing a character called the Bowery King," Reeves began to describe Fishburne's character. "He is a leader of this underworld in New York City. He knows everything about everything and he helps John in his mission."
On working together with Fishburne again, Reeves said, "It was so cool to have a chance to work with Laurence Fishburne again, with the history that we have professionally and personally. I ran into him, and he was saying that he was a fan of the first film, and was there anything in the second film. I said, 'As a matter of fact there is!' So, we sent him the project and he responded to the role."
Fishburne is not the only one from "The Matrix" who is involved in "John Wick: Chapter 2". Chad Stahelski, who was once the stunt double for Reeves in "The Matrix" and "The Matrix Reloaded", as well as the martial arts stunt coordinator in "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions", serves as director for the "John Wick" sequel.
Reeves reprises his role as John Wick, a hitman plus a dog lover, in "John Wick: Chapter 2". Bound by a blood oath, he travels to Rome to help out an associate who wants to control international assassin's guild. A previously released trailer shows that the upcoming movie will feature impressive and aesthetic action just like its predecessor.
Starring alongside Reeves and Fishburne are Common, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ruby Rose, John Leguizamo and Ian McShane. The movie will hit U.S. theaters on February 10, 2017.
