Optimus Prime Fights New Villains in 'Transformers: The Last Knight' Poster

The new picture gives fans a close look at Autobots' leader Optimus Prime as he is wielding his sword and facing mysterious villains which look like robotic dragons.

AceShowbiz - "Transformers: The Last Knight" doesn't hit theaters until next summer, but an impressive poster for the upcoming film has surfaced online. The poster, which was first debuted in Times Square last month, has been officially released by Paramount Pictures U.K. via the studio's official Twitter account.

Set against a medieval concept, the artwork gives fans a close look at Autobots' leader Optimus Prime as he is wielding his sword and facing mysterious villains which look like robotic dragons. The caption of the picture reads, "Get ready for battle. #Transformers: The Last Knight is coming in 2017."

In the fifth "Transformers" film, Optimus Prime finds his home planet, Cybertron, now a dead planet. Thinking that he's responsible for its demise, he finds a way to bring the planet back to life. However, in order to do so he needs to find an artifact on Earth.

Mark Wahlberg returns as the main hero, Josh Duhamel is set to reprise his role as Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox, Tyrese Gibson also returns to play Richard Epps and Peter Cullen once again lends his voice to Optimus Prime. The flick also stars Isabela Moner, Anthony Hopkins, Jerrod Carmichael and Santiago Cabrera.

Directed by Michael Bay, "Transformers: The Last Knight" is set for a June 23, 2017 release in the United States.
