The 'Footloose' star will not be a judge for the 22nd season, while Len Goodman will return to the panel.

AceShowbiz - Julianne Hough is out as "Dancing with the Stars" judge. The professional dancer and sister of "DWTS" pro Derek Hough is confirmed not to return as a judge for the 22nd installment, but promises that she will be back in other capacity.

"Julianne will always be a part of the 'Dancing with the Stars' family and we hope to see her back in the ballroom in the future," producer Rob Wade tells PEOPLE. Ms. Hough also says, "I will miss being on the panel for Season 22, but have a lot of exciting stuff coming that I look forward to sharing. The pro dancers, producers and crew at DWTS will always be my family." She adds, "I promise it's not the last you'll see of me in the ballroom."

Hough previously joined the ABC dancing competition as a pro dancer in season 4 until season 8, and had won two Mirror Ball trophies. She served a judge for season 20 and 21. "DWTS" aside, she had a lead role in FOX's critically acclaimed musical "Grease Live" and also stars in "Dirty Grandpa".

While Hough is leaving "DWTS", Len Goodman has been confirmed to return to the panel after sitting out last season due to prior commitments. He will be joined by returning judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
