The sequel to 2001's 'Super Troopers' has started filming with all five leading actors reprising their respective roles.

AceShowbiz - Production has officially commenced on "Super Troopers 2". The movie reunites all five actors from the original film, Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske, who will reprise their roles as goofy Vermont state troopers. Chandrasekhar once again tackles the directing duty.

Stolhanske and other fellow stars took to social media to announce the production. "And so it begins. First day shooting Super Troopers 2," the 47-year-old actor captioned a photo from the set which he uploaded on Facebook.

Heffernan also posted on Twitter a photo which features Chandrashekar posing in front of a green familiar-looking vehicle. "Dusted off the car. Time to shoot," he wrote.

This spring, the team behind the movie launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise production money and to make sure that there were enough fans to make a sequel worth it. It was said that the sequel could move forward if they could raise $2 million or more. The campaign reached that mark within a single day and they got a total of $4.5 million from Indiegogo supporters.

Plot details have yet to be revealed, but the official Broken Lizards website teased things that fans could expect. "For anyone who doesn't know, two of the Lizards are making out with each other in this movie," the post read. "There's also going to be more male nudity - we're still giving back to the ladies after all these years."
