James Bond Villain Richard Kiel Dies at 74

The towering actor, who played Jaws in 'The Spy Who Loved Me' and 'Moonraker', passed away in a hospital in Fresno, Calif.

AceShowbiz - Actor Richard Kiel, who played a villain named Jaws in two James Bond films 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me" and 1979's "Moonraker", passed away on Wednesday, September 10 at the age of 74. According to TMZ, a family member said that Kiel broke his leg last week and was admitted to a hospital in Fresno, Calif. It is unclear whether his death was related to the injury.

Director of communications at St. Agnes Medical Center, Kelley Sanchez, confirmed to media that Kiel received treatment at the hospital and passed away, but she declined to reveal more info regarding his passing.

Kiel was born in Detroit, Michigan. The actor, who stood at 7ft 2in, had a hormonal condition called acromegaly which contributed to his towering height.

In his 50 decades of careers, Kiel probably is mostly remembered for his role as villain with steel teeth in the Bond movies with Roger Moore. In addition to the spy flicks, he played Adam Sandler's boss Mr. Larson in 1996's "Happy Gilmore" and was seen in Clint Eastwood's "Think Big". He most recently voiced Vlad in 2010's "Tangled".

Kiel made his TV debut in 1960. Later, he made appearances on TV shows such as "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.", "The Wild, Wild West", "The Twilight Zone", "Gilligan's Island" and "Kolchak: The Night Stalker".
