The English singer drops the black-and-white video in support of the new track from her 'Halycon' album.

AceShowbiz - British singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding premieres the music video for her new track "Explosions" off her latest album "Halcyon" released in October last year. It follows her "Figure 8" video which Goulding dropped last November in support of the second single from the same album.

The black-and-white clip begins with Goulding sitting inside a bus, before randomly showing her various onstage performances of the track. It's sort of a glimpse into the current state of the indie pop musician, who's on U.S. tour to promote her second EP "Run Into the Light".

Towards the end of the clip, Goulding is seen on her post-concert routine, celebrating with her backing band and signing her autograph on a photo after heading off the stage. She caps the four-minute clip with a sheepish grin.

As the title implies, "Explosions" is a powerfully stirring track with some brilliantly-written lyrics. "You left my soul bleeding in the dark/ So you could be king/ The rules you set are still untold to me and I/ lost my faith in everything/ The nights you could cope/ your intentions were gold/ But the mountains will shake/ I need to know I can still make...explosions..."

The song has a deep storyline with a hook that bursts out with a strong piano accompaniment. "Explosions...on the day you wake up/ Needing somebody and you've learned/ It's okay to be afraid/ But it will never be the same," she sings.

In November last year, Goulding contributed her track "Bittersweet" produced by electronic musician Skrillex to the soundtrack of "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II".

"Explosions" is written by Goulding herself with the help of music writer and producer Johnny Fortis. It is the third official single taken off her second album "Halcyon". The song is featured on the "Drama on ITV" commercials that came out earlier this month.
