TV

The CW reportedly has a good faith in the vampire drama and lands its first choice of pick up on it.

The CW won't unveil its final line-up for the Fall season until this Thursday, May 21 but Los Angeles Times has written in its report that "Vampire Diaries" is already given a thumb up. If the report were true then the series based on LJane Smith's novel series is the first to be officially picked up.

Starring Ian Somerhalder as Damon and Paul Wesley as Stefan, "Vampire Diaries" is the story of two vampire brothers, one good one evil, who are at war over the soul of a young woman named Elena Gilbert (played by Nina Dobrev). The CW President of Entertainment Dawn Ostroff said previously, "It taps into what women have been fascinated with for years. ...It's a great story about a young woman who is in a love triangle between two brothers. It's all about her life. We like that it's romantic and dangerous all at the same time."

Last week it had been reported that The CW has given permission for the hiring of staff for the series. Also taking similar progress is the refurbished version of "Melrose Place".

The Fall schedule of The CW will contain at least "90210", "Gossip Girl", "One Tree Hill","Smallville", "Supernatural" and "America's Next Top Model". The fate of "Privileged" and "Reaper" meanwhile, is expected to be formally announced Thursday along with the already goners "Everybody Hates Chris" and "The Game".
