John Travolta and his wife, Kelly Preston, have been hit by a tragic news early on the new year. On Friday, January 2, the couple's 16-year-old son, Jett, is reported to have passed away during a family vacation at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island after suffering a seizure. Confirming the matter to Reuters was the family's attorney Michael Ossi, who claims that Jett has a history of seizures.
According to police spokeswoman Loretta Mackey, the eldest son of Travolta and Preston hit his head on a bathtub on Friday morning. He was found laying unconsciously in the bathroom by a caretaker. Per Bahamian Chief Superintendent Basil Rahming, efforts were made to revive Jett and he was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Rahming further stated that a team of officers from the Central Detective Unit were dispatched to investigate after receiving word at about 11:40 A.M. that Jett had fallen ill. The body of Travolta's son will remain at Rand Memorial, while an autopsy to determine the cause of death was pending. In addition, TMZ reported that Jett's body would be transferred to Restview Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium in the Bahamas on Monday, January 5.
Travolta and his family, including his 8-year-old daughter Ella, arrived in Bahamas on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, by private plane. They had been vacationing at their home in the Old Bahama Bay resort community.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their family on the tragic death of their son Jett," said Robert Gidel, president of Ginn Resorts, the property's owner. "The Travolta family has become like family to us at Old Bahama Bay and we extend our deepest sympathies to them."

i am so sorry to here about your loss.i lost a 16 year old from drowning and then in sept i lost another son to a motorcyle accident so i defintely know what you are going through.it.does get better with time and i dont mean you will get over it because it will be with you every day but when the shock wear,s off you will be able to ajust to it a little easeier.i still can,t hardly put my son,s picture,s out but god bless you and know that you will get through this and in time you will know he wouldn,t want you to have your life tore up all the time .maybe i am not saying every thing right but i do understand ...god bless you and kelly

My deepest sympathies go out to the Travolta family. As to the 'servant of god', how the h3ll do u know what being a servant of god means? It means to show compassion when someone is in need, love thy neighbor. Freedom of religion, as I can recall, is what makes this country of ours so great. Whether u like it or not its your problem not theirs, so how can u say that Jett paid the price ? Keep your stupid opinions to yourself and if ur mad at the world put the blame on yourself not anybody else, moron.
