While Beau Willimon's play, "Farragut North," is headed for Broadway next year, with Mike Nichols reportedly in line to direct Jake Gyllenhaal in what is said to be his stage debut, Warner Bros. is reported to be developing its big screen version with Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney expected to star in.

Not only the movie duo in talks to seize starring role in the forthcoming movie, but also having their production company, DiCaprio's Appian Way and Clooney and Grant Heslov's Smoke House, in hand to produce with Clooney eyeing the director seat as well.

Willimon, a playwright who has worked for several political campaigns including Howard Dean's 2004 presidential run, is penning the script.

The big screen version of the play, also titled "Farragut North," reportedly revolves around an idealistic communications director who, while working for a fast-rising presidential candidate, falls victim to the backstabbing and trickery of rival politicians.

While Gyllenhaal is said to be playing the main role on Broadway, it is yet made official on who'll portray it on screen nor does it is mentioned on when production on the project might get underway.
