Justin Timberlake is making a much-anticipated return to the music scene with his upcoming album, "Everything I Thought It Was". It marks his first LP since 2018's "Man of the Woods" and has fans buzzing with excitement. He showcased his commitment to delivering an exceptional musical experience to his audience by amassing a staggering 100 songs for the album.

"Narrowing them down to 18 was a thing," the NSYNC singer admitted in an interview. Out of the bunch, he eventually picked "Selfish" as the lead single from the album. Taking four years to produce, it's a sweet love song about falling head over heels in love with an "angel."

Releasing his new music amid controversy surrounding his past relationship with Britney Spears, Justin was inevitably met with criticisms from her devotees. Despite the drama marring the initial excitement, "Selfish" still managed to make an impressive impact by climbing to No. 3 on the US iTunes Top Songs chart.

Besides the love ode, Justin hinted at addressing his past. He said, "I was able, on some of the songs, to look back at the past and have a real, not a refracted perspective of what it was because they always say ... you always hear that thing about, well, there's never any truth, there's just everybody's perspective of what happened, but to really look at it and be able to metabolise and verbalise my perspective on it, I don't think I've ever really done that before."

The musician - who's now married to Jessica Biel - felt "really good" to be able to speak honestly through his lyrics. He said, "It just really feels good, the thoughts, and emotions, and feelings that came to me in writing these songs and the people I collaborated with and got to share these moments with."

As his musical comeback continues is unfolding, Justin promises thrilling live performances by mapping out "Forget Tomorrow" tour for summer 2024, with a warm-up free gig in his hometown of Memphis. With a whirlwind of anticipation among both longtime and newfound admirers, he is set to make a momentous comeback.
