The 'Flight' Rocketing to Highest Place
October 03, 2005 09:10:44Over a rush of new wide releases and critics pointed to "Flightplan," the airplane thriller keeps going on, rocketing to the highest place in box office for the second week with $15 million. The science-fiction tale "Serenity" comes behind at No. 2 with $10.1 million, ahead of "The Corpse Bride" at No. 3 with an estimated gross of $9.8 million.
"A History of Violence," in continuation, taking in for $8.2 million to be at No 4. Another new thriller titled "Into the Blue" successfully opens at No. 5 with $7 million. Coming at No. 6 is "Just Like Heaven" with $6.1 million, followed behind by "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" at No. 7 with $4.4 million. "Roll Bounce," in addition, secures the No. 8 with $4 million.

Flight attendants Boycott 'Flightplan'
September 29, 2005 09:09:47Flight attendants: "Boycott 'Flightplan'." But Why? Take a look at the story. It displays a mother looking for her missing daughter aboard a plane. It then turns out that one of the flight attendants aboard is involved in a terrorist plot hatched by the plane's air marshal.
So? Labor unions, the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, the Association of Flight Attendants and Transport Workers Union, representing most of the nation's 90,000 flight attendants at 23 airlines have urged their members to boycott the new Jodie Foster film, which they think can cause distrust of their members among real airline passengers. Moreover, they also complained that other flight attendants in the film are shown as being "rude, unhelpful and uncaring."

The "Flight" Flies So High
September 26, 2005 09:09:04Jodie Foster flies the airplane high, so high that it could successfully land to the 1st position at the North American box office on Sunday. "Flightplan," earning an estimated $24.4 million in its opening weekend in over 3,400 theatres, is overshadowed by the animated tale "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride," which takes the No.2 slot in its first wide weekend release with $20.1 million.
Last weekend's champion, "Just Like Heaven," slips two to No. 3 with $9.8 million, ahead of "Roll Bounce," which taking in $8 million. Else where, "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" clings at No. 5 with $7.5 million, and followed behind by "Lord of War" with $4.9 million. At No. 7 is Universal Pictures comedy "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," comes after which at No. 8 is "The Constant Gardener" with $2.2 million.
