although this is a serious and inevitably sad film, there is also great joy in it, in the performances from Bowie's A Reality Tour in 2003 and 2004, when he looks as vibrant and energized as ever in his mid-50s
"The Last Five Years" giddily suggests that real genius, like Bowie's, never stops creating, and in a humbling way, the movie is a sweet reminder that Bowie's never gonna leave us

"The Last Five Years" captures the gorgeous sunset of a rock god, but it's no mournful elegy. It's a shivery celebration of Bowie's genius audacity and how it never let it up
