November 18, 2009 11:11:30GQ Magazine's annual Men of the Year list has just been unveiled, giving the predicates of "Breakout of the Year" to actor Chris Pine and "Comeback of the Year" to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Both stars, thus, are featured on two different covers of the publication's upcoming Men of the Year issue.
In addition to Pine and Brady, there are also some other stars who make the list. Actors Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms, who star in comedy movie "The Hangover", share the title of "Funnymen of the Year". Besides, there is also actor-director Clint Eastwood who is named "Badass of the Year."
Chris Pine Poised to Be the Next Jack Ryan
October 14, 2009 11:10:12The new face of Jack Ryan could be found in the form of Chris Pine. According to Variety, the actor who takes on the role of James T. Kirk in 2008's "Star Trek" has begun negotiations with Paramount Pictures for an opportunity to topline the reboot of the franchise which is based on the Tom Clancy novels.
On late Tuesday, October 13, the studio has confirmed the report. The statement from Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman read, "Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan. With Chris in this role, we've taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise."
Chris Pine Will Possibly Join Denzel Washington Starring in 'Unstoppable'

Breaking the news was Denzel Washington, who told MTV backstage at its 18th annual Movie Awards on Sunday, May 31, "I'm going to shoot a movie in the fall called 'Unstoppable' - me and Tony Scott - and Chris Pine's going to do it with us."
"I hope I'm not speaking out of line. I think they made a deal with him, and I'm supposed to meet him next week," Denzel quickly added. When asked to verify the matter, a spokesperson for The 20th Century Fox which produces the film told MTV, "We're in negotiations with him, but no deal yet."

Big screen actors, small screen stars and TV personalities were all spotted walking down the black carpet that was rolled down in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater on Thursday, April 30.
Unlike its world premiere in Sydney that was attended by several of its cast members, this Los Angeles screening saw many of the film's stars. Chris Pine, Eric Bana, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, John Cho, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and Winona Ryder were only a handful of the cast ensemble seen attending the premiere.

"White Jazz" director Joe Carnahan has indicated via his official blog that Chris Pine has dropped talks for the role of Junior Stemmons in order to play the USS Enterprise commanding officer.
"I've been talking to him this past week and knew how tough the decision had to be for him," so Carnahan wrote. "You don't get opportunities like that often and I told him as long as he could control as much of that process as possible and not get sucked into doing lesser sequels as a result of taking this gig, then good luck and God bless."

Seems Paramount is going on the fast track in constructing the lineup of "Star Trek" cast. Just hiring Eric Bana as villainous Nero, the studio is learned by The Hollywood Reporter to have already got into discussions with "Just My Luck" star Chris Pine for a possibility to give him the role of the USS Enterprise captain, James T. Kirk.
On the same time, Pine reportedly is also in talks to take part in Joe Carnahan-directed "White Jazz", which George Clooney is set to topline. The Los Angeles-born actor will likely be billed as Junior Stemmons, the partner of Clooney's character, should deals are struck.

Set to board the same vehicle together, Eliza Dushku, Bill Pullman, Alan Rickman, Chris Pine, and Rachael Taylor are all poised to star in a dramatic feature telling about the birth of the Napa Valley wine industry, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.
Titled "Bottle Shock", pic is based on the true story of California's Chateau Montelena winery, which won an international wine-tasting competition and put the region on the vino map. Filming is due to begin August 1 this year in Napa and Sonoma under the direction of Randall Miller who will helm from the script originally penned by Ross Schwartz that he rewrote alongside Jody Savin.
