AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian's corset dress game is definitely strong. After making headlines for her chromatic waist-cinching ensemble by Maison Margiela at the 2024 Met Gala, the reality TV star further turned heads with another extreme corset gown for her second look.
On Wednesday, May 8, "The Kardashians" star treated fans to a peek at yet another waist-cinching ensemble from the same fashion house. The said dress, which she dubbed "Margiela Broken Doll" look, consisted of a black leather corset and a nude turtleneck catsuit.
The 43-year-old completed her style with beige satin over-the-knee socks featuring ripped detail which appeared to try mimicking skinned knees. As for the last touch, the SKIMS founder rocked a jaunty hat, a tortoiseshell-print collar as well as claw-like black fingers.
Upon catching wind of the new look, some Internet users blasted the mom of four for further showing off an unrealistic beauty standard. "I wish there was a dislike button. This is horrible," one person said. "Looks like abuse and its disturbing," someone else comment, while another added, "kimmy it's giving… lost organs."
However, some others defended Kim for the unusual dress. "Seems a lot of people don't understand the difference between everyday fashion and couture. This is very Margiela. Its couture. It's art," one wrote.
"I really don't understand the hate. It's an avant-garde costume. If you don't like it, don't wear it," someone else echoed the sentiment. "Everybody wants to hate on the Kardashians, but they're actually self-made and you can tell they're authentic. It's just people hate to see someone else doing better," another added.
One person pointed out, "She's having fun, & she's rich, beautiful and none of yall seeing her so now what?" Another fan penned, "I will never understand why people hate this woman so much, I genuinely love her. I also love what she did with this look, it definitely got alot you talking and that alone is brilliant."
