The Belizean rapper-turned-politician, who was signed to Bad Boy Records, speaks against his former label boss after footage of Diddy assaulting his then-girlfriend in 2016 surfaced online.

AceShowbiz - Shyne Barrow has condemned Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' "repugnant behavior" which was caught on camera in recently circulating footage. The rapper-turned-politician has spoken against his former label boss after the leaked video showed the Bad Boy Records mogul assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie back in 2016.

The ex-Bad Boy star took to his Instagram page on Sunday, May 19 to slam his former mentor. "I vehemently denounce the repugnant behavior of Sean Diddy Combs captured on the video in which he is seen physically assaulting Mrs Cassie Ventura-Fine," he wrote.

The rapper, who is now an elected member of the House of Representatives in Belize, stated, "There is no place for Violence against Women anywhere on the planet. As a father of a precious daughter, a global citizen and the next Prime Minister of Belize I want absolutely nothing to do with people who engage in this pattern of diabolical behavior."

Sending his support to Cassie and other women who have accused Diddy of similar behavior, the 45-year-old added, "My prayers are with Cassie and all the other victims who have come forward with horrendous allegations against Mr Combs."

Shyne is infamously known for being involved in a 1999 club shooting, for which he was incarcerated for eight years. Diddy and his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were present during the shooting and Natania Reuben, who was shot in the face during the club shooting, has claimed that the hip-hop mogul was actually the one who pulled the trigger instead of Shyne. The leader of the Belize United Democratic Party recently insisted that he's "the fall guy" for the shooting.

Shyne issued his statement after Diddy publicly apologized to his ex Cassie. "I hit rock bottom -- but I make no excuses," he said in a video on Sunday. "My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I'm disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."

Cassie's lawyer, however, wasn't convinced by Diddy's apology, saying in a statement, "Combs' most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. That he was only compelled to 'apologize' once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words."
