AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez reportedly told "The Boy Next Door" co-star Ryan Guzman to "pretend" to be single to promote their 2015 film. Bringing the claim was the actor's ex, Melanie Iglesias.

"She made my ex, oh my God, pretend that he was single to promote the movie," the Maxim model alleged in a recent episode of the "No Chaser" podcast. "The publicists, both of them, called me ... so they were at afterparties together, like, holding hands and stuff to promote this."

Melanie didn't name Ryan on the podcast. However, she dated and walked red carpets with the Texas-born hunk at the same time that he was doing press junkets with J.Lo. for their movie.

In the thriller romance, J.Lo portrays newly separated high-school teacher Claire Peterson, while Ryan plays a handsome, charming teenager Noah who moves in next door. The two become love interests, but when Claire tries to end their relationship, Noah becomes violent.

Both Ryan and J.Lo have yet to address Melanie's claim. However, a source told DailyMail.com that it was far from true. "Jennifer was happily in a relationship at the time," the insider added. "She doesn't play games like that."

Recently J.Lo also faced accusations from her former choreographer. In a TikTok video, Dexter Carr claimed that she made a disparaging comment about his hair when they worked together for a tribute to the music of Motown at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

Dexter also criticized the lack of black dancers in J-Lo's team. He added that three black dancers were all "pushed away from the center."
