During an interview on 'Live with Kelly and Ryan', the Natasha Romanoff depicter admits while Marvel are like a family to her, she thinks she is ready to hang up her batons.

AceShowbiz - Scarlett Johansson wants her Marvel character "Black Widow" to go out on "a high", all but confirming rumors the new blockbuster will mark the actress' swan song in the role.

The star first appeared as Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, in 2010's "Iron Man 2" and has since played the athletic heroine in seven Marvel movies, most recently 2019's "Avengers: Endgame", in which Scarlett's screen alter ego fell to her death.

With the prequel movie about Romanoff's origin story finally hitting U.S. and U.K. cinemas this week (ends July 9) - after launching in other territories in June - Scarlett is ready to hang up the electroshock batons her former assassin character uses to fight off the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) bad guys.

"I really have had such a fantastic run," she tells "Live with Kelly and Ryan". "I love working with Marvel. They're like family to me and I would love to work with them [again] in any capacity."

"But I think I'm ready to hang up my batons. I really feel like I've had such an amazing run and I'd like to go out on a high, you know, that's always the best way to leave the party."

And Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who also served as a producer on "Black Widow", confirms he's hoping Scarlett will return to work with her MCU family from time to time.

"I am excited to continue working with her in any way possible if we're so lucky," Kevin told U.S. show Entertainment Tonight last week (ends July 2).
