HBO has unveiled the first full trailer for the popular fantasy show's sophomore season which sees both Green vs. Black sides eager to start the House Targaryen civil war.

AceShowbiz - The House Targaryen civil war is inevitable in season 2 of "House of the Dragon". On Tuesday, May 14, HBO unveiled the first full trailer for the show's sophomore season which sees both Green vs. Black sides eager to start the war.

The new footage sees Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) her Black Council prepared to take power from the dowager Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and her son, King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney). Rhaenyra isn't the only one who is eager to win the war as Aegon screams, "I want revenge!"

At one point in the trailer, Aemond Targaryen ( Ewan Mitchell) points out that his mom Alicent may hold things back. "Alicent holds love for our enemy," he tells Sir Criston Cole (Fabian Frankel). "That makes her a fool."

The trailer also foreshadows the potential for a rift between Rhaenyra and the power-hungry Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) as she can be seen questioning his loyalty. Concluding the trailer, Rhaenyra says, "War is coming, and neither of us may win."

Back in March, House of the Dragon showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal teased another character who might play a big role in the war. "Some people think it's Rhaenyra, some people think it's Aegon, and then there are other people within who think, 'Why should it be one of the two of them? Maybe it should be somebody else. Maybe it should be me!' " he said at the time, "The fun of this Greek tragedy is seeing, when you introduce a power vacuum to a world like this, how all of these individuals react."

The new season features returning cast members Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans. Also reprising their roles in the second season are Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham.

The upcoming season also features new faces, including Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale, Clinton Liberty, Jamie Kenna, Kieran Bew, Tom Bennett, Tom Taylor and Vincent Regan.
